St Augustine Hop-on Hop-off Tours

We LOVED the trolley tour. All visitors to St. Augustine need to do this tour. It is safe, fun, interesting and educational. You will find, hear about, and see so much more about St. Augustine than you could do on your own walking around. Very fun too. The OFF/ON feature all day long is very nice!! The drivers know a lot and seem to love their job. How they drive these long trolleys all over I don't know, but felt safe and sound every time we got on. It's worth every penny.

Cool way to beat the heat or rain. I enjoyed the driver's history narration.

Kevin and Greg were awesome. Very interactive. Made our experience wonderful. All staff was helpful, and kind even when waiting for the trolley to begin. Very helpful and resourceful ideas on how to make the most of our time and experience. Will always do this tour. Staff went out of their way to celebrate my friends’ birthday. What a great addition to our day.

We had a great day touring historic St. Augustine and our tour guide Davey Jones was an enthusiastic knowledgeable host and funny to boot! He made our tour fantastic for our family ranging in ages from 21 to 79.

This is a great way to get familiar with the city. We made the whole city tour initially and then used the hop on hop off feature to get to various places we wanted to visit. Very easy to use. The drivers are excellent and do a great job of describing places around the city.

If you're spending a couple days in St. Augustine for sightseeing and the charm. TAKE this tour and do the attractions. It's a smart move, you'll see more and learn so much more than going it alone. Parking is tight in St. Augustine and the tour alleviates that. This our 3rd company tour with this Savannah and Nashville. We'll worth it!!!!

We stayed in the historical district of St Augustine and was hesitant on spending the money on this but we used it all day and hit all hot spots. Totally worth it. Can get on and off anytime. Last pick up is 4:30 but makes the entire loop. Buy online you get a little discount.

On the one hand, this is a great way to see the city, learn the history and not have to deal with parking at various sites. On the other hand, it’s expensive, they do HEAVY up sell (to the point of shaming you for not buying. This was at the ticket booth), and most of the staff were rude and/or annoying. Depending on the driver you get, this could be a great experience. Bud was EXCELLENT and even at the places where he had to encourage you to get out and spend your money (which is pretty much every attraction) he made it sound like he was just talking up his community and he was very proud of it. Another driver “scolded” you every time she mentioned how to get on and off the trolley. Personality is definitely a factor in how you’ll experience the tour part.That said, trolleys come every 10 min. To a stop and the whole loop takes 90 min. So if you like your driver, stay on and hear the tour, then get off to see the sites the next go-around. If you don’t like your driver, hop off, see the site and try another one in a little bit.Definitely research ahead of time what attractions you want to see in SA so you are prepared to purchase ONLY the package you need. There are discounts if you buy the admission with the trolley, but you can’t see everything very easily, so pick and choose. We purchased tickets at a discount online ahead of time and the ticket girl said to us, “oh, that’s too bad you bought them already. You shouldn’t have done that. You could’ve gotten a discount here.” At which point we felt panicky thinking they wouldn’t honor our online tickets. What she meant was, darn, there goes my commission.So definitely make this resource your own and take from it what you need it to be. We appreciated parking for free in the lot all day, the narrated tour of the city and the sites and the transportation between attractions. There were ample trolley stops and frequent trolleys. They do fill up in the afternoon and you might have to wait for the next one.

My husband and I have used Old Town Trolleys several times over the years and they have always been a good experience. Our tour guide Jimmy B was very knowledgeable and entertaining. This trip it rained a lot, but Jimmy B. gave us free ponchos. That was unexpected but greatly appreciated! Great customer service that makes me even more loyal to the Old Town Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley! Thank you!

It was nice being able to get around town and see where everything was and learn more about the city. Now I know where I wanna go visit next time I’m there. I just wish she told me there was free parking for people that were taking the trolley. Finding parking in that area is very difficult. Even the parking garage was not labeled real well on the streets to find it. But it was nice being able to get some point to point without having to do all the walking.

Pepper was lively and informative. Seats weren’t the most comfortable, but still nice. The trolley cars would be nice with some mini fans.

What a great way to get the lay of the land before actually heading out and about in St Augustine. I came across a review that said go early, ride a full time around and then start the hop on, hop off process and that was the way to go. They are extremely knowledgeable and informative, as well as safety driven. At one stop a couple hopping on ran and jumped on prior to the trolley coming to a full stop and the bell ringing (an announcement said at every single stop as they slow and as they go) this is not only for passenger safety but also for traffic and vehicles around the trolley. Punky was our guide at that time and she did an INCREDIBLE job of addressing the situation and importance of the rules for on/off. We learned a ton and would definitely recommend hopping on!

I rode the trolley on my first full day in St Augustine to get a feel for the layout of the town and the places I wanted to explore. I think that was a wise choice. I got off at a couple of places to explore, and it was easy to find another stop to get back on. I rode with three different guides- they're all different in style, but they all know their history.

Absolutely loved this trolley tour. It was a lot of fun to ride around the city and learn about its history. "Davy Jones" was the trolley driver, and he was very informative and knowledgeable about the city and the different time periods.
